In 2024 a group of Somali-Americans in the U.S.A. formed the Horn Infrastructure Solutions; following the devasting El Niño destroyed critical bridges in the Gedo Region of Somalia.
The goal was to mobilized community resources in order to rebuild these bridges. The scope expanded to infrastructure critical economic vailability and reduce proverty.
Poverty is a complex problem and, and by focusing on infrastructure, HIS is working hand-in-hand with local communities and others to improve infrastructure of living for all people.
